The schedule of the Tony Valenti lecture series and other talks/ presentations is:
Sept. 16, 2006: Christine Goldbeck, a Commonwealth speaker for the Pennsylvania Humanities Council, discussed "Mining for Truth: Coal Culture" at 2 p.m.- Meadowcroft Museum.
Mar. 31, 2007: Daryl Boocks, retired McGuffey School District art instructor, spoke and presented a slide program on area covered bridges.
July 7, 2007: William S. Poellot, Jr., national authority on railroads, will discuss the building of the Wabash R.R., which was the original railroad line that ran through Avella during irs heyday of coal mining
The Oct. 11, 2008 Historical Tour of Avella, the latest of several tours, was led and moderated by Eugene Painter, Sr. and Regis Brozier, with input by several attendees among the throng. Points of interest from thevillage's past were discussed.

Aug. 1, 2009: Burgettstown Library, 1:00 pm Howard Standish and/or Ron DiOrio will discuss African-Americans in the history of the area. (Fort Vance Historical Society)
Aug. 8, 2009: 10:30 am St. Michael's Church, Highland Av., Avella (Tony Valenti Lecture Series) Frank Rotunda will discuss the life of Anthony Valenti. Oct. 3, 2009: Burgettstown Library, Eugene Painter, Sr. will portray (his ancestor) Patrick Gass, of the Lewis and Clark Expedition. (Fort Vance Historical Society)
